Barn In My Yard

Saying I'm a writer is just one way I define myself. I'm also a jewelry seller, a decorator, a foodie, a cook and so much more. I didn't have to think long on what theme to use for this year's challenge. Spring is the start of gardening for me, so let's talk about what's In My Yard .

Barn

I love old buildings so when I bought my old house I was happy it also came with an old barn. It's somewhat typical of southern barns, wood plank walls and metal roofs.

We've had numerous animals in the building, hundreds over a thirty year span. Horses, hogs, goats, sheep, geese, ducks, chickens, rabbits, cats & dogs. I don't think I left out a breed.

But my husband is gone and my interests are elsewhere, so the barn now sits empty, except the occasional year we turn it into a haunted barn for a Halloween party.

  1. I love old buildings too. Kind of sad thinking about your barn being empty. Must be a lot of memories there.

    1. I'm tempted to have animals in it again, but then I remember I just don't have the time. Thanks for dropping by!

  2. That is such a pretty picture :) I'm in a fairly rural area of Michigan so I see barns, both used and unused frequently
