Valentine's Day Chocolate Truffles

Valentine's Day is less than a month away. Have you thought about your plan? Are you wondering what sweet you can get for your sweetie? Buying flowers and candy is the traditional thing, yet so cliche. Why not do something extra special like pick some flowers, even wildflowers will do. And if you're in snow country, there are still live plants out there that have flowers or pretty leaves. Next make your own chocolate confections. Here's a recipe for one decadent chocolate treat. Holds up well in the freezer, so it's perfect to make ahead.

Chocolate Truffles

8 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
12 ounces milk chocolate chips
8 ounces cream cheese
2 ounces white melting chocolate
Red food coloring

Melt semi sweet chocolate.
Beat cream cheese adding melted chocolate until well blended.
Refrigerate until firm.
Shape into 4 dozen balls.

Melt milk chocolate chips.
Dip balls and sit on wax paper.

Melt white chocolate, add food coloring to desired pinkness.
Drizzle on coated balls.

Let dry and then transfer to container.
Freeze or refrigerate.

  3. These look so pretty! I can't wait to try them on my husband. I'm also sending it on to my daughter. She had a baby in November. I'm sure she'd enjoy sharing these with her husband too.
